The Core Shadow

The core shadow is the darkest band on the form itself, just past the turn into shadow.

In Merrifield's first cylinder this "extreme dark" sits a little in from the edge, not at the outline.

  • Cross stressed careful drawing of "the dividing line of light and shade".
  • Under the same light, a soft core means a gentle curve and a crisp one a sharper turn.
